SUMMARY:Remote Emergency Care (REC 3)
DESCRIPTION:This is a limited event with 4 spaces available for each club. This is extremely strict. \nRemote Emergency Care level 3 has an internationally recognised curriculum. The course fulfils the requirements of all major sporting governing bodies including Mountaineering Ireland and Canoe Ireland. It is run by outdoor medical experts with experience in both the medical field and in outdoor pursuits. \nThis training will be carried out by Barry Redmond. It is 2 full days of training to receive accreditation. Taking place from 9am-5pm Saturday and Sunday the 22nd and 23rd of March. \nLocation of Abbey Hall\, Graiguenamanagh  \nMain topics covered include: \n\nPrinciples of First Aid\nRecognition of Vital Signs\nThe REC Approach (Dr A.B.C.D.E.)\nTreatment for Unconsciousness\nAccident Procedure (including hygiene and personal safety)\nAirway Problems\nControl of Bleeding\nResuscitation CPR & AED\nTreatment of Fractures and Soft Tissue Injuries\nTreatment of Burns\nInjury Identification in Conscious and Un-Conscious Casualties\nTreatment of Shock\nOther Injuries including Common Medical Emergencies\nMultiple Casualties and Prioritisation (Triage)\nCasualty Management\nFirst Aid Kits
