Dates:  Oct 30th to 1st Nov 2024 inclusive. \nIs your child eager to cycle\, but needs a helping hand? Our Learn To Cycle Programme is here to help and teaches the fundamentals of cycling  Our programmes teach cycling in a safe and supportive environment. Experienced instructors Small group sizes Fun and engaging activities \nLet’s get those stabilisers off and watch them soar! Limited spaces available\, only €15 per person \n***IMPORTANT*** please read \nPLEASE NOTE BEFORE YOU ATTEND: All participants must have a properly working bike or balance bike for this programme. The brakes and gears MUST WORK PROPERLY. The tyres must be CORRECTLY INFLATED (see side of tyre for this information). Please do not attend the programme with a bike that is not fit for cycling. Our tutors are engaged to teach cycling and not to conduct bike repairs. \nALL participants will be required to wear a helmet for the programme at all times – no exceptions. \nNOTE FOR PARTICIPANTS: If you have a bike but are not yet cycling\, please remove the pedals before the first session. Each session lasts one hour and turning up with issues with the bike takes away from tuition time and holds up the session for all the other participants and the tutors. Parents/guardians/care staff must remain on site for the duration of the session.

DESCRIPTION:Designated Liaison Person (DLP) – Every club/organisation should designate a person to be responsible for dealing with any concerns about the protection of children. The DLP is responsible for reporting allegations or suspicions of child abuse to TULSA Child and Family Agency or Social Services (NI) and/or An Garda Siochána / PSNI. It is recommended that this person is a senior club person. However\, if there is difficulty identifying a separate individual to take this role\, the Club Children’s Officer can be appointed as DLP once the club/organisation is clear about the responsibilities of each role.  The organisation’s child protection policy and procedures should include the name and contact details of the DLP and the responsibilities attached to the role. \nA person appointed to the Designated Liaison Person position in a club must firstly complete Sport Irelands Child Welfare & Protection Basic Awareness Workshop and should complete the Sport Irelands Designated Liaison Person 3 hour workshop. Whether you are already doing some activities with us or whether it’s your first time to engage with us\, you are more than welcome to Give It A Try Week. \nWe have tried to keep the cost to a minimum so that as many of you as possible can attend all the events. The total cost for ALL 6 activities will be €15. You can pay this online or by cash (receipted) on Monday 17th or Tuesday 18th June. \nWhen you are booking\, please\, tick the events you are going to attend. Please note there is unlimited availability for 2 events Community Walk on Thursday and for Football For All. \nALL other activities have a maximum number of participants – spinning (15); cycling on the Watershed track (20); outdoor fun & games in Watershed (30); aqua fun in the pool (20). DESCRIPTION:A person appointed to the role of Club Children’s Officer within a club must have firstly completed Sport Irelands Safeguarding 1 (Child Welfare & Protection Basic Awareness workshop). \nThey should also complete Sport Irelands Safeguarding 2 Club Children’s Officer 3 hour workshop. The aim of this workshop is to help the Club Children’s Officer to carry out their role and support the implementation of best practice in the club. Participants will also receive a Club Children’s Officer Action Planning document as part of the training. It will be facilitated a qualified bike fitter and a lifelong cyclist. Ian had his own shop here in Kilkenny\, The Cycle Clinic! \nAfter this class\, you will have confidence to carry out basic repairs and replacements to your bike. The class takes place in Sullivans Taprooms on Tuesday May 14th from 7.00pm to 8:00pm. Each participant will also receive their own Bike Maintenance Kit! \nWorkshop includes: \n\nM check\nTyre and tube replace\nLubrication chain\nBrake check cable wear and lube\nTyre pressure check\nAsses wheel for trueness\nBrake tuning\nAnd if you have any quires on anything else you would like Ian to go through!\n\n• ALL participants MUST pre-register online.
