SUMMARY:2025 KRSP Stretch & Move November
DESCRIPTION:Stretch & Move \nKilkenny Recreation & Sports Partnership are happy to announce that this programme will resume on Mondays from November 3rd at 10am to 11am. It will run for 6 weeks to December 15th. The programme uses Activator Poles (like Nordic Poles). Participants do not have to use them if they do now wish. It will take place from Michael Dore’s café in the Castle Park and follow routes in the park (with kind permission from the OPW). The cost will be €12\, and this includes use of the poles (supplied). \nMeet at the Coffee Shop in Kilkenny Castle Park each Monday morning for 10am start. We will be supplying Activator Walking Poles (similar to Nordic Poles) as these help us to stretch\, walk in a nice upright way and they’re also useful for balance and for doing some light exercises when we’re finished our walk. You don’t have to use the poles if you don’t wish. ALL levels and abilities are welcome to join in the programme and we look forward to seeing you there. Nobody will be left behind. Come out\, walk and chat. \nParticipants must register in advance. You can pay with card online or with cash on day one. SUMMARY:KRSP Callan Community Chair Based Pilates November 2025
DESCRIPTION:Kilkenny Recreation & Sports Partnership will deliver Chair Based Pilates exercise programme specifically for older adults and adults with additional needs who are living in the Callan area. We invite everybody to participate. The programme will run from Thursday November 6th to December 11th from 10am to 11am each day. We invite you all to come along\, enjoy the company and the Pilates and feel good afterwards. \nPlease note that all participants MUST BE REGISTERED BEFOREHAND – no registrations on the day. Under no circumstance can somebody attend without being registered – no exceptions. You can pay fees with card online or alternatively register online and pay €15 cash on the first morning only. DESCRIPTION:Kilkenny Recreation & Sports Partnership will deliver a programme of supported swimming lessons exclusively for children with disability. These will take place in the Watershed on Wednesdays from April 15th to May 20th – a 6 week programme. Please ensure to read all the information on here before booking. \nEXTREMELY IMPORTANT: \nPlease note: \n\nWhen completing the application form you must complete all sections. Answers questions as NONE or N/A that are not applicable.  If your child will be joining this programme\, they should have additional needs\, and we ask that you let us know what these are.\nPlease also complete the questions that ask about specific requirements.\nChildren should attend with their parent(s) / guardian 5 minutes before allotted swim time.\nUnder no circumstance should any child enter the water before their allotted swim time.\nChildren should only enter the water under the supervision of KRSP staff or Swim instructor working with KRSP – not parents or KRSP volunteers.\nParent / guardian must remain on the premises for the duration of the lesson and collect promptly at the end of the lesson.\nPlaces on this programme are very limited. \nEligible Children are those with a disability\, attending school\, aged 8 upwards. Please ensure to register your child at the appropriate swimming level (see list below).\n\nTimes and Groups: \nGroup 1. : from 3.30 to 4.10 in the learner pool \nGroup 2. : from 4.10 to 4.50 in the learner pool \nGroup 3. : from 4.50 to 5.30 in the learner pool \nGroup 4. A group of 12 swimmers IN A LANE IN THE MAIN POOL from 3.30 to 4.10 for improver/advanced \nWe are delighted that\, once again\, we will have a fantastic group of Transition Year students to support the children on this programme. Our Swim Buddies have been fantastic support on our supported swim lessons. We are delighted that our two swim teachers Daphne and John will be teaching on the programme.

DESCRIPTION:Help your child cycle with confidence \nJoin our Learn to Cycle Programme\, a mixed-ability (children with and without additional needs) programme helping children build skills\, confidence and independence on two wheels.   \nVenue: Gaelscoil Osraí\, R95 AT85\nDates: Monday 11th May to Wednesday 13th May \nTimes:\n7:00pm to 8:00pm: Ages 5 to 10\n8:00pm to 9:00pm: Ages 11+ \nWith experienced instructors\, small groups and a safe\, supportive setting\, children can learn at their own pace and enjoy the excitement of cycling. \nLimited spaces available\nOnly €15 per person \nImportant:  \n\nA safe\, working bike or balance bike required.\nAll children must wear a helmet at all times. \nBrakes/gears must be in working order.\nTyres must be inflated to the correct pressure (see side of tyre for information). \nIf your child is not yet cycling\, please remove the pedals before the first session. \nParents/guardians/care staff must remain on site.\n\nTutors cannot carry out bike repairs during sessions.

DESCRIPTION:Spin for Your Bling – Bike Week 2026\nKilkenny Recreation & Sports Partnership invites everybody to take part in Spin for Your Bling as part of Bike Week 2026. Simply accumulate 40km and earn your bling! KRSP have had a special medal designed for this event. \nThis is a FREE virtual cycling event. All you need to do is get on your bike and complete 40km by May 18th. There are plenty of safe places across Kilkenny City and County to achieve this and enjoy being out and about on your bike. With brighter spring evenings and improved weather\, it’s a great time to get cycling. It can be done solo\, with friends or family. You can complete the challenge in one ride or across multiple cycles. There is no time pressure – it is not a race. \nYou must then upload your proof through link which will be sent to all registered participants or see below. \n\nWho can take part\nThis event is open to: \n\nSeasoned cyclists\nNew cyclists\nAdults & children\nPeople who haven’t cycled for a while\n\nPlease note that parents/guardians must register on behalf of any child under the age of 18. This event is open to people resident in Kilkenny City and County only. \nGet friends\, family\, and work colleagues to sign up and you can all achieve 40km and spin for your bling. \n\nSafety\nPLEASE NOTE: You are obliged to cycle safely at all times. Wear a helmet and obey the rules of the road. SUMMARY:2026 KRSP Inclusive Summer Programme - Youth Volunteer Application Form
DESCRIPTION:Youth volunteer application MUST BE COMPLETED BY PARENT/GUARDIAN on behalf of the youth volunteer.\nOur Inclusive Summer Camp programme caters for children who require additional support to engage in activities\, this may be because of a physical\, sensory or a learning disability. The inclusive summer camps gives children a chance to take part in a fun summer camp in a supported environment. \nSAFE RECRUITMENT:  KRSP is committed to the safe recruitment and the protection of children and vulnerable persons (see our Child Safeguarding Policy on www.krsp.ie). Youth volunteers must be must be aged 15-17 years old. Volunteers aged 16 and 17 will be Garda vetted by KRSP / Sport Ireland with parental/guardian consent. \nTRAINING:  Volunteers selected must be available for training on EITHER June 19th OR June 26th unless they they have previously volunteered with KRSP. Volunteers (aged 16 and 17) will also receive Safeguarding 1 training (with parental/guardian consent) or be asked to provide evidence that they have undertaken Safeguarding 1. \nIndividuals selected will be made aware of Kilkenny Recreation & Sports Partnerships Code of Conduct (see KRSP Policies on www.krsp.ie). \nUnder the supervision of KRSP staff and Activity Leaders\, the role of the Youth Volunteer will be to encourage enjoyment\, fun & plenty of smiles while providing assistance to children to ensure maximum engagement in activities. KRSP runs 4 separate Inclusive Summer Camps throughout the Summer. In the application\, please indicate the camps the youth volunteer will be available for. PLEASE  VOLUNTEER FOR AS MANY CAMPS AS POSSIBLE – THE MORE YOU VOLUNTEER – THE MORE CHILDREN GET TO ENJOY THE CAMPS! \nIn return the youth volunteer will receive training\, be supported and mentored by KRSP staff and activity leaders\, and have a rewarding and fun experience with peers of a similar age as well as gaining valuable experience for your future education / employment prospects.
