SUMMARY:2025 KRSP Understanding Physical Literacy Workshop

By attending our workshop\, you will gain valuable insights into physical literacy\, which can be used to decrease this trend. You can learn how to coach others using physical literacy principles\, which will help promote lifelong physical activity and engagement in sports. The strategies in this course will be a valuable tool for those who want to improve their own physical activity and for helping those they coach do the same. \nSpaces are limited\, so book your place below today to avoid missing out! \nIf you have any queries\, please contact Ciara on 085-8782773 or ciara@krsp.ie \n

SUMMARY:2025 KRSP Inclusive Summer Camps Programme
DESCRIPTION:BEFORE COMPLETING THE REGISTRATION FORM FOR KRSP SUMMER CAMPS\, PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS INFORMATION CAREFULLY \nKilkenny Recreation & Sports Partnership is delighted to announce details of our 2025 Inclusive Summer Programme for children with additional needs. Supported by KRSP staff\, tutors\, coaches\, and a cohort of great volunteers. \nAGES FOR CHILDREN ATTENDING CAMP 6 TO 17 YEARS and must be attending school. \nFor Week 1 and Week 2\, we request that parents/guardians select one camp only. By doing this\, as many children as possible will have at least one summer camp week. For Week 3 our swimming camp – these spaces will be given on a first come\, first served basis. When booking the swim camp\, please book your child into the appropriate level camp (see guidelines below). \nThanks to generous support from Kilkenny Rugby Club\, most of the activities in Week 1 and Week 2 will be hosted on their premises in Foulkstown\, Kilkenny R95 CH68 from 10am to 12.30pm each day. Some activities\, such as tennis in Kilkenny Tennis Club\, will have a slightly different time (11am to 1pm)\, but you will be reminded of these beforehand. KRSP will have staff\, coaches and volunteers on hand each day at all the camps to support your child. \nWeek 1 – July 14th to 18th from 10am to 12.30pm. \nWeek 2 – July 21st to 25th from 10am to 12.30pm \nActivities will selected from the following: – athletics\, rugby (with Leinster Rugby)\, soccer (with FAI Development Officer); Cycling (On Your Rothar) and Pitch & Putt (with Pitch and Putt Ireland)\, Kayaking (with Kilkenny Aqua Canoe Club)\, arts and crafts and orienteering / playground activities in Kilkenny Castle Park. All activities at very gentle\, inclusive\, and fun level with no pressure on participants to ‘perform’. \nWeek 3 – July 28th to August 1st – Children’s Swimming programme (for those aged 6-17 years) each morning in the Watershed with KRSP Swim Teacher\, KRSP staff and volunteers. KRSP will have volunteers in the water with your child to support them. Guided by the information below\, please pick ONE session. Each session will last for 45-minutes: \n\n10am to 10.45am (beginners in the learner pool – has just started swimming lessons\, is six and attending school).\n11am to 11.45am (intermediate in the learner pool – has done some swimming lessons and is making progress).\n12pm to 12.45pm (advanced in the main pool – can swim and can do so in the main pool in the Watershed).\n\nALL participants on all our summer programmes MUST be pre-registered online for the camp. Strictly no registrations on the day and no cash payments. Parent / Guardian must fully complete the application on behalf of the participant. If you need support to register online contact Seamus Nugent on 087 3567884. \nPLEASE NOTE \n\nWater and refreshments will not be provided for participants – please ensure your son/daughter has enough drinks and snacks for the camp.\nShould we be so lucky to have a sunny\, warm summer\, please ensure that sun cream is applied before attending the activities. Please ensure that your child is dressed appropriately for the weather e.g. sun hats\, raincoats etc. Please also ensure that your child’s bag and clothing is clearly labelled on day one and that it is collected each day at the end of the session.\nChildren will be signed in and signed out each day at camp. Please bear with us as we go through this thoroughly to ensure the safety of your child.\nWe may or may not know your child. Therefore\, when booking\, it is important to advise us of the disability your child has. Please include any triggers or things that might need to be avoided and anything that your child likes/dislikes. This will help us to enhance your child’s enjoyment of the programme.  If there are none\, then please type NONE – please note these fields are mandatory.  However\, leaving these spaces with NONE on the registration can make things a little more difficult for us!\nKRSP reserves the right\, at our discretion\, to amend\, cancel or shorten the daily sessions for whatever reason e.g. hot weather or inclement weather. You will be contacted by text message if this should be necessary.\nWhere KRSP provides equipment\, we will ensure it is sanitised pre & post activity.\nKRSP staff\, tutors\, coaches\, or volunteers are trained to provide an enjoyable sports-based\, fun camp for children with additional needs. Please note that we are not trained to provide for the intimate care needs of participants. If your son/daughter needs intimate care assistance\, please ensure that a suitable person attends with the child on site to provide this.\nPlease also note that KRSP staff\, tutors\, coaches\, or volunteers are NOT trained and not allowed to administer any medication. If your child needs medication\, please ensure that a suitable person is on hand to administer the medication at the time it is required.\n\nPlease contact Seamus (087 3567884) to discuss arrangements.
