DESCRIPTION:This session is now full\, other dates are available on the 10th Oct 14th Nov or 28th Nov.  \nThis Safeguarding 1 ‘Child Welfare and Protection in Sport’ training is a 3 hour basic awareness course\, looking at how we can keep adults and young people safe and happy within the club environment. This course is open to sports leaders\, coaches\, parents\, children’s officers and other adults involved in the organisation of sport for young people. This module will help to create and maintain a safe and fun environment for young people within the sports club or organisation. Attendees must be over 18 years of age.\n\n\nThe Sport Ireland online Safeguarding 1 Workshop (via Zoom) is an interactive course which requires participants to have : \n\nGood internet connection to allow you to have a video / take part in group discussion\n\n\nAccess to email – Zoom link and course materials will be sent out to participants prior to course date.\n\nTo gain accreditation\, it is essential to complete the whole course \nThe online course will be delivered via Zoom. DESCRIPTION:HerOutdoors is a week designated to encouraging women and girls to get active in the outdoors! This year we have a multiple programmes and courses available to get females out and moving! HerOutdoors week is the 12th – 18th of August. \n  \nMountain Biking programme is open to women over 18 years old to learn how to do Mountain Biking with a trained instructor. This is open to complete beginners! It will take place in Castlecomer Discovery Park. Over 4 weeks you will learn skills\, confidence and take on some trails ! \n  \nThis is a 4 week programme starting Saturday the 17th of August at 11am and finish on the 7th of September! Please note transport will not be provided. \nReaching New Heights is a hillwalking course that Kilkenny Recreation & Sports Partnership will be running in partnership with Mountaineering Ireland. This is for adult women living in Kilkenny. The aim of HEROutdoors Week is to get more women and girls active in the outdoors! \nKRSP is running a 4-week Outdoor Adventure Programme for teenage girls in Castlecomer Discovery Park starting Wednesday 7th of August & Thursday 8th of August 2024. \nGroup 1 – Wednesday August 7th\, 14th\, 21st & 28th. DESCRIPTION:Kilkenny Recreation and Sports Partnership are delighted to run a first aid courses open only to sports clubs in Kilkenny! \nThe recognition\, assessment\, and immediate on-site management of sports injuries are crucial to facilitate rehabilitation and to minimise further risk of harm to the athlete. This course is designed for coaches\, instructors\, teachers\, supervisors\, sports assistants\, and volunteers\, teaches the medical assessment and management of a wide variety of sports injuries. Importantly\, participants will also know how to recognise when professional medical referral is warranted. \nUpon successful completion of the course participants are presented with an Sports First Aid Certificate which is valid for two years. \nIncluded in the training are the basic techniques of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)\, the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and the action to take in the event of choking for children. DESCRIPTION:Come along and GIVE IT A TRY! \nKilkenny Recreation & Sports Partnership present a week of activities for adults (18+) with additional needs to ‘try out’. Whether you are already doing some activities with us or whether it’s your first time to engage with us\, you are more than welcome to Give It A Try Week. \nWe have tried to keep the cost to a minimum so that as many of you as possible can attend all the events. The total cost for ALL 6 activities will be €15. You can pay this online or by cash (receipted) on Monday 17th or Tuesday 18th June. \nWhen you are booking\, please\, tick the events you are going to attend. Please note there is unlimited availability for 2 events Community Walk on Thursday and for Football For All. \nALL other activities have a maximum number of participants – spinning (15); cycling on the Watershed track (20); outdoor fun & games in Watershed (30); aqua fun in the pool (20). ONLY BOOK THESE EVENTS IF YOU ARE 100% SURE OF ATTENDING THEM. SPACES WILL BE GIVEN ON FIRST COME\, FIRST SERVED BASIS. \nPlease note that adults who are part of any disability service group must be accompanied by care staff.
