SUMMARY:2026 KRSP Supported Swimming Lessons - Spring
DESCRIPTION:Kilkenny Recreation & Sports Partnership will deliver a programme of supported swimming lessons exclusively for children with disability. These will take place in the Watershed on Wednesdays from April 15th to May 20th – a 6 week programme. Please ensure to read all the information on here before booking. \nEXTREMELY IMPORTANT: \nPlease note: \n\nWhen completing the application form you must complete all sections. Answers questions as NONE or N/A that are not applicable.  If your child will be joining this programme\, they should have additional needs\, and we ask that you let us know what these are.\nPlease also complete the questions that ask about specific requirements.\nChildren should attend with their parent(s) / guardian 5 minutes before allotted swim time.\nUnder no circumstance should any child enter the water before their allotted swim time.\nChildren should only enter the water under the supervision of KRSP staff or Swim instructor working with KRSP – not parents or KRSP volunteers.\nParent / guardian must remain on the premises for the duration of the lesson and collect promptly at the end of the lesson.\nPlaces on this programme are very limited. \nEligible Children are those with a disability\, attending school\, aged 8 upwards. Please ensure to register your child at the appropriate swimming level (see list below).\n\nTimes and Groups: \nGroup 1. : from 3.30 to 4.10 in the learner pool \nGroup 2. : from 4.10 to 4.50 in the learner pool \nGroup 3. : from 4.50 to 5.30 in the learner pool \nGroup 4. A group of 12 swimmers IN A LANE IN THE MAIN POOL from 3.30 to 4.10 for improver/advanced \nWe are delighted that\, once again\, we will have a fantastic group of Transition Year students to support the children on this programme. Our Swim Buddies have been fantastic support on our supported swim lessons. We are delighted that our two swim teachers Daphne and John will be teaching on the programme.

SUMMARY:2026 KRSP Inclusive Summer Programme - Youth Volunteer Application Form
DESCRIPTION:Youth volunteer application MUST BE COMPLETED BY PARENT/GUARDIAN on behalf of the youth volunteer.\nOur Inclusive Summer Camp programme caters for children who require additional support to engage in activities\, this may be because of a physical\, sensory or a learning disability. The inclusive summer camps gives children a chance to take part in a fun summer camp in a supported environment. \nSAFE RECRUITMENT:  KRSP is committed to the safe recruitment and the protection of children and vulnerable persons (see our Child Safeguarding Policy on www.krsp.ie). Youth volunteers must be must be aged 15-17 years old. Volunteers aged 16 and 17 will be Garda vetted by KRSP / Sport Ireland with parental/guardian consent. \nTRAINING:  Volunteers selected must be available for training on EITHER June 19th OR June 26th unless they they have previously volunteered with KRSP. Volunteers (aged 16 and 17) will also receive Safeguarding 1 training (with parental/guardian consent) or be asked to provide evidence that they have undertaken Safeguarding 1. \nIndividuals selected will be made aware of Kilkenny Recreation & Sports Partnerships Code of Conduct (see KRSP Policies on www.krsp.ie). \nUnder the supervision of KRSP staff and Activity Leaders\, the role of the Youth Volunteer will be to encourage enjoyment\, fun & plenty of smiles while providing assistance to children to ensure maximum engagement in activities. KRSP runs 4 separate Inclusive Summer Camps throughout the Summer. In the application\, please indicate the camps the youth volunteer will be available for. PLEASE  VOLUNTEER FOR AS MANY CAMPS AS POSSIBLE – THE MORE YOU VOLUNTEER – THE MORE CHILDREN GET TO ENJOY THE CAMPS! \nIn return the youth volunteer will receive training\, be supported and mentored by KRSP staff and activity leaders\, and have a rewarding and fun experience with peers of a similar age as well as gaining valuable experience for your future education / employment prospects.
